Vlašić

The mountain above Travnik: skiing in winter, high pasture and shepherds' settlements in summer, and the cheese that carries its name.

Vlašić rises north of the town and tops out at Paljenik, around 1,933 m. The ski area sits on the Babanovac side.

In summer the draw is different: high open pasture, marked walking, and the katuns — seasonal shepherds' settlements where the cheese is still made.

It is a drive from town rather than a walk, and the road demands winter tyres in season. Check conditions before you commit to it in bad weather.
